SL Geek Staff app and team.slgeek.lk

This policy explains what information SL Geek (Pvt) Ltd ("SL Geek", "we") keeps about the people who use the SL Geek Staff app and the team.slgeek.lk website, and how we use it. These tools are only for SL Geek employees and contractors. They are not offered to the public.
Information we keep
Your account and profile
- Name, username, job role, profile photo, email address, phone number, birthday, gender, home address and city, national ID number, and any social links or author bio you add.
- Your permissions in the system and, for payroll, your base salary, content rates, monthly target and payout details (bank account, PayPal or crypto address).
- Your password, stored only as a secure one-way hash.
Sign-in and device information
- One-time verification codes we send to your phone and email when you sign in.
- A random device identifier created by the app, the device name and model type, platform (Android or iOS), app version and IP address.
- When you signed in, last opened the app and were last active, and which browsers you chose to trust.
- A push notification token from Google Firebase so we can send notifications to your device.
Your work
- Projects you are assigned to, links you submit, approvals and revision notes, project chat messages, the project you mark as "working on" and its history.
- Events you are invited to and your RSVPs, files and images you upload, blog posts you write, documents you sign or upload, and your paysheets.
- Notifications we send you, and whether you have read them.
What we don't collect: your location, contacts, photo library (other than files you choose to upload), microphone or camera, or any advertising identifier. The app has no ads and no third-party tracking.
How we use it
- To run the app and website: sign you in, show your projects, events, pay and documents, and let you do your work.
- To keep accounts secure: sign-in codes, and the limit of 2 phones and 2 browsers per person.
- To contact you about your work by push notification, SMS and email (for example a new assignment, an approval or an event invite).
- To calculate and pay salaries and keep the payroll and tax records the law requires.
- So managers can see work progress, such as who is working on which project.
We never sell your information or use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Only with services that help us run these tools, and only what each one needs:
- Text.lk sends SMS messages (your phone number and the message).
- Brevo sends emails (your email address and the message).
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging delivers push notifications (your device's push token and the notification).
- Contabo stores uploaded files and images, and Cloudflare protects and delivers our website.
- OpenAI translates blog post text you submit for publishing, and Tinify compresses images you upload.
Inside SL Geek, administrators and managers can see the information they need for their role. Clients only see what is part of their own project (for example published content). We may also share information when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Your account information is kept while you work with SL Geek.
- Sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes. Unused app sessions expire after 30 days.
- After your account is deleted, personal profile data is removed within 30 days. Salary, payment, tax and signed agreement records are kept for as long as Sri Lankan law requires. See Modify or delete your account.
How we protect it
All connections use HTTPS. Sign-in needs your password and a one-time code. App sessions are tied to your device and stored on our servers only in hashed form. Access inside the system depends on each person's role, and you can be signed out of every device at once if needed.
Your choices and rights
Under Sri Lanka's Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022, you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted (except records we must keep by law). You can turn off push notifications at any time in your phone settings or in the app. To make a request, see Modify or delete your account or email [email protected].
Age
These tools are for SL Geek team members aged 18 or over.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
